West Scarborough Neighbourhood Community Centre – Programs for All Ages

In partnership with @outerharbourjrsailing, our SKY girls have been learning to sail right here in Toronto’s Outer Harbour with some incredible growth over the last few weeks. ⛵❤️ Two of our girls even earned their CANSail 1 certifications this week! SKY is our all-girls program at WSNCC, built to create spaces for young women to grow, lead, and find their people. Between yoga sessions with @thecanadiancourageproject , learning kickboxing basics, a trip to the ROM, taking the field at Rogers Centre, and getting out on the water for sailing and windsurfing, our SKY girls have been busy this summer and we love to see it. ❤️💪 SKY is our all-girls summer camp at WSNCC, a space built specifically for young women to grow, lead, and find their people. WSNCC operates on land that is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands. We also acknowledge all Treaty peoples – including those who came here as settlers – as migrants either in this generation or in generations past and those who came here involuntarily, particularly as a result of the trans-Atlantic slave trade.
